TALE
Basil and the Small Door
Basil the bull wants to help three ducklings settle down for the night. Their doorway is much too small for him, but there is room for his help on the other side.
Basil was a big bull. He had a broad brown back, a soft cream nose, and a curl that would not lie flat. At the end of the day he walked across the farmyard to his barn. Beside the path stood a little duck house. Outside it waited Mother Duck and three ducklings. One duckling yawned. Another yawned. The smallest opened her beak, forgot to close it, and nearly fell asleep standing up.
